QDesign Tonos Selects QDesign to Provide Superior Audio Compression Technology for Tonocorder

June 26, 2000- Culver City, CA and Vancouver BC, Canada- - Tonos, Inc. (www.tonos.com), the first online "music insider's network", today announced that they are licensing audio compression technology from QDesign Corporation, the leading provider of advanced digital audio technologies for the new media, broadcast and Internet delivery markets.

Tonos is employing QDesign's audio compression technology for use in its newly launched Tonocorder. The Tonocorder, created via a strategic partnership with Emagic, is Tonos' "Click-Sing-Send" application, whereby Internet users with microphones attached to their computers can record, mix and create their own custom music and vocal tracks directly on the Tonos Web site (www.tonos.com), and then submit their creations for review as part of the Tonos 'challenges'. "With QDesign's superior audio compression technology, Tonocorder users will have a more user-friendly experience with music files being decoded and compressed more efficiently," said Tonos Executive VP/GM Justin Herz. "In addition, our 'hitmakers', who review all music submissions directed to our Web site, can analyze the music with more scrutiny, due to the high caliber of audio quality."
