Company announces dramatic increase in sales of QDesign Music Codec technology

May 22 , 2000 - Vancouver, Canada QDesign Corporation, leading provider of advanced digital audio compression technologies for the new media, broadcast and Internet delivery markets, today announced significant increases in sales of their award-winning QDesign Music Codec technology.

Sales of the Professional Edition of the QDesign Music Codec 2 quadrupled in 1999 over 1998. And so far this year, sales were up a further 300% for the 1st quarter of 2000 over the same period in 1999. Since its introduction in 1998 as the high quality streaming audio solution for Apple QuickTime, the QDesign Music Codec has experienced rapid growth in the multimedia, broadcast and Internet delivery markets. The technology has received many accolades and several awards including being among the 'Top Tools of 1998' according to Interactivity, a 'Four Mouse Award' from MacWorld and a 'Hyper Award for Audio Product of the Year' in 1999 from New Media Magazine. With the release of Version 2 in May of 1999 the QDesign Music Codec technology has continued to grow its reputation as the highest quality audio format available on the Web.
