QDESIGN MUSIC CODEC 2.1 OPTIMIZED FOR G4

Apple Macintosh G4 processor support offers improved speed and performance for QuickTime 4 streaming audio

January 5, 2000 – MacWorld Expo 2000 (Terran Interactive Inc. Booth #3627), San Francisco, CA - - QDesign Corporation, the leading provider of digital audio compression technologies, announced today that version 2.1 of its award-winning QDesign Music Codec – Professional Edition will be available with Apple Macintosh G4 optimizations that enable improved speed and performance for QuickTime 4 audio compression and streaming.

The QDesign Music Codec is the audio compression solution for Apple QuickTime 3 and 4, offering the highest quality audio at the smallest file size for digital media targeted for delivery on the Web. Slated for release later this month, QDesign Music Codec 2.1 will improve encode speed by more than 25% on all G4-equipped Apple Macintosh computers. Version 2.1 of the QDesign Music Codec also features enhanced performance and network robustness for high quality Internet audio streaming.

Availability
QDesign Music Codec 2.1, is scheduled for release in January 2000. This upcoming version will be available as a FREE upgrade to all registered users of QDesign Music Codec 2, Professional Edition. All Version 1.0 users may purchase the upgrade for US$79; newcomers to the QDesign Music Codec can purchase the full 2.1 version for $399. This new release will be available directly from QDesign (www.qdesign.com) and from Terran Interactive (www.terran.com) as a stand-alone product or as part of the Cleaner 5 Compression Suite and Media Cleaner Power Suite.
